In a recent article entitled "To be Blunt James still at his best" in which he metaphorically elbows a bevvy of most likely coked up model types with no taste out of the way to get to James Blunt's cock he came up with this little gem ...
"Problem is, the animosity directed against James is less to do with his music not being hardcore lo-fi a la Radiohead and more to do with the fame, wealth, adulation and beautiful women on his arm (a quick list would include Lindsay Lohan, Czech model Petra Nemcova, Mika Simmons and Paris Hilton, supposedly another ex)."
Godrich should have his legs broken for that.
I feel dirty for even writing Egan's name but this should make me feel better. It may not be hardcore, but it's certainly lo-fi.

I had to mention this shit on my own blog too. Imagine, this fool was once the music critic for the Irish independent. His writing is badness. Pure rancid, self-serving badness masquerading as journalism. I get sick a little bit in my mouth thinking of him and the rag he writes for. Ugh.
That's the thing, I can live with the crawling, that's the way he does things and I can ignore it but the the idiocy of the Radiohead comment it insane. And as you pointed out he was a music hack and should know better.
Ahahahaha
Oh my god.
Hardcore lo-fi.
That's the funniest thing I've read in weeks.
"If, say, Ian Curtis had written Goodbye My Lover, the critics would be swooning."
Ah, those critics. In other words, people capable of distinguishing between those who are associated with genuine expression of genuine emotion, and those who are associated with loads of supermodels.
typo on the GBV tune-
Buzzards and Dreadful CROWS
;)
